How can I get to the Gyeongbokgung east parking lot?
You can take a bus to the east entrance of Gyeongbokgung. Please check bus routes via the internet.
Is there a fee for Cheong Wa Dae tours?
No. The tours are free.
Can I take a picnic lunch inside Cheong Wa Dae or use the canteen?
No. Cheong Wa Dae is the official office of the President of the Republic of Korea and the Presidential Secretariat, and thus food and drinks are strictly prohibited. There is no canteen for tourists.
Do I have to make a reservation in advance?
Yes. Both group and individual tours require reservations at least 21 days in advance.
Are tours sometimes cancelled because of bad weather? (snow, rain or etc.)
Yes, if the weather is too bad, a tour may be cancelled.
Is it possible to see inside the building during the tour?
No. Because Cheong Wa Dae is the official office of the President of the Republic of Korea and the Presidential Secretariat, entrance into the buildings is prohibited.
Are there guided tours of Cheong Wa Dae for groups of more than 200?
Guided tours of Cheong Wa Dae are only available for groups of 200 or less due to limited space.
Can I meet the President on the tour?
We understand that many people come on a Cheong Wa Dae tour with an expectation of meeting the President. However for obvious reasons, it is not possible to meet the President on a tour.
What kind of clothes do you recommend for the Cheong Wa Dae tour?
The tour will cover areas such as Nokjiwon (Green Grass Garden), the site of the former Cheong Wa Dae main building, the new main building and Yeongbin-gwan (the State Guest House). The entire tour will take approximately 60 minutes. Comfortable walking shoes and casual dress are recommended.
